The H.R.G. Association

THE HOME OF HRG

The H.R.G. Association is the international club for all those who have an interest in the cars built by H.R.G. Engineering Co., Ltd. The Association was founded in 1960 with the blessing of the company and with the objectives of fostering links between the factory and owners, promoting social and competitive activities and to help keep the cars authentic, roadworthy and a credit to the marque. The Association is a company limited by guarantee and is owned by the Owner Members of the Association. All officers of the Association and the Parts company act in a voluntary, unpaid capacity.

The Association, unusually for a car club, owns the intellectual property of HRG including the trademark and so can rightfully claim to be the home of the HRG.

The Association owns H.R.G. (Parts) Ltd. which took over the spares operation, drawings, tools and jigs when the factory closed in the 1960s and today runs one of the best spares programmes for any specialist car of this period. See the Parts page for more details.

Almost all owners of HRGs worldwide are members of the Association and our membership covers 18 countries. Owner Membership is open to all owners of HRGs. However, if you have an interest in the HRG marque but do not own a car you can become an Associate Member and enjoy all the benefits of membership other than buying parts from HRG Parts. This is a particularly good route to follow if you are considering buying an HRG but have not done so yet. It gives you access to experienced owners of HRGs and you will receive the Association's publications which contain insights into the cars and listings of cars for sale.

Activities

Members are very active with their HRGs around the world in a variety of motor sports such as racing, hill climbs, trials and rallies. The list of these is long and includes the Flying Scotsman and Prescott Hillclimb in the UK and the Alpine Trial and the Mille Miglia on the Continent. The Association encourages and publicises these activities.

The Association runs several events during the course of the year. These range from regular pub meets in different regions of the UK to tours, driving days and events associated with hillclimbs and race meetings. See the Events page for examples and a list of some upcoming events.

Publications

The Association publishes a quarterly magazine, the Gazette, that is mailed to all Members and a Monthly Newsletter that is distributed electronically.

Apart from these regular publications, HRG Parts has available a number of publications such as service manuals and technical notes to assist in the maintenance or restoration of HRGs.

The primary source of information about the history of HRG is the excellent book, "H.R.G.: The Sportsman's Ideal" by the Association's Patron, Ian Dussek. This available to both members and nonmembers from the Association. Please send enquiries to HRG Parts at hrgpartsltd@gmail.com
