HRG COMPETITION RESULTS

HRGs were entered in significant numbers in British club level competition events from 1935 until well into the post war period. Their engineering qualities meant that there was no limit to the form of competition they could excel at: everything from road races and rallies to hillclimbs, speed events and trials.

In addition to British club level competitions they were also widely used in professional level racing not only in Britain but also on the Continent and as far afield at the USA and South America. The success of HRG cars at this level of competition is remarkable when you consider that, unlike most manufacturers of similar sports cars, the factory never ran a factory team. The competitive successes of HRGs are, therefore, a testament to the quality of the cars sold to the public by the factory and the competition skills and dedication of their owners and drivers in all forms of motorsport.

Listed below are a selection of HRG class victories in major international competition events in period.
